Every EU funding consultant has the same secret: there is no secret database. The professionals monitor the same public sources - they just monitor all of them, every week, without fail. Here is the complete list, and what each one is good for.
The EU-level core
- Funding & Tenders Portal - the single source of truth for Horizon Europe, the Innovation Fund, LIFE and most EU programmes. Learn its topic filters and saved searches; everything starts here.
- CINEA (European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency) - runs the Innovation Fund and LIFE. Publishes call documents, info-day recordings and Q&A first.
- EISMEA - runs EIC and SME instruments. The page to watch for EIC Accelerator, Pathfinder and Transition calls.
- EIC Work Programme - published annually; the EIC calendar for the year, including Accelerator cut-offs.
- Horizon Europe work programmes - the multiannual documents (2026-27 adopted December 2025) that list every planned call by cluster. Read your cluster's document once, and you know the year.
The national and regional layer
- National contact points (NCPs) - every member state has them; they publish national co-funding, webinars and local interpretation of EU calls.
- National innovation agencies - each country's own grant schemes (often easier to win than EU-level calls, and stackable with them).
- ERDF regional programmes - regional managing authorities publish cleantech co-funding on regional portals; chronically under-watched, chronically under-subscribed.
- EIB and InvestEU - not grants, but the financing layer that pairs with them; the portals publish advisory programmes and blended-finance windows.
- Your ministry of energy / economy / environment - national cleantech schemes appear here, frequently with short windows and little publicity.
